About nine years ago I began my start on eBay, first just browsing and making a few bids on things I wanted to buy. I designed and made my own cigar box purses and wanted another venue for selling besides craft shows and retail locations. Soon I began adding other merchandise and was thrilled when a vintage hat I purchased at a rummage sale for seventy-five cents sold for over eighty dollars! I was hooked! I have made wonderful friendships with other sellers and buyers and have enjoyed meeting some of them at eBay Live Las Vegas and Chicago.
I became a Powerseller and trading assistant and after working for someone else for twenty years, having my own business has been both challenging and very rewarding. I began teaching seminars at the job center of a local community college and four years ago became an Education Specialist trained by eBay. I enjoy teaching seminars and one-on-one classes as well. I am a member of the McHenry Area Chamber of Commerce, the Chicagoland eBay Sellers Group and the Chicago Area Ecommerce Merchants Group.
